Earth Day / Arbor Day

This Arbor/Earth Day G's teacher had her students make a poster that she entered into a contest that was voted on by the Mayor. The pictures above show the top ten in his class giving a speech on why trees are valuable. A girl from his class was awarded 2nd overall in the city. Pretty impressive work kiddos. The school's science teacher was awarded a declaration of Arbor Day from the Mayor as well. This assembly was informative and I am very proud of each of you. My favorite part was when the parks and recreation staff came out to help the kids plant a tree. Thanks guys!

Way to go "G" - it is encouraging that our next generation is trying to take better care of what God made for us!!! Sorry we didn't do a very good job in the past but I do believe we are becoming more aware. Thanks for your efforts - GREAT JOB!!!

Awesome, G! What a great thing to celebrate and educate others about! Did you know that Arbor Day came out of Nebraska City, Nebraska? There is an Arbor Lodge there and we've stayed there and taken the tour of the tree farm, tree house, trails, etc. So, if you're ever there, you should check it out!
