We travelled to see Nana & Papa for Christmas this year. They are transitioning from an independent living facility to an assisted living situation. A lot of this is due to the fact that Papa is now on Dialysis and Nana really can not stay alone for 5 hours at a time 3x's a week. So we all crammed into their 2 room apartment and JJ and his mom made Christmas breakfast and dinner from all things you can plug in (toaster oven, microwave, hot plate, electric skillet etc.) since they do not have an oven or stove in the apartment. It was amazing food and kudos to them for all the efforts. The next day we packed them up for their move and we headed back home. It was a short trip, but well worth it. It was nice to see everyone, and enjoy the wonderful weather (Christmas was rainy, but today was gorgeous). We scoped out a camp site for next summer at the beach and hit IKEA for dinner... yum!
